Customer Support
Practical ways support teams can use Giga to investigate issues, reuse troubleshooting methods, and work from customer context.
Customer support work depends on finding the right context quickly, following a reliable troubleshooting method, and handing work between people without losing what has already been learned.
Giga can connect those pieces while keeping customer context and external-system access permission-aware.
Investigate a customer issue
A Chat can be used to work through an issue using the context and tools available in the current session.
A typical investigation might include:
Gather the facts
Review the customer context, issue details, relevant files, and approved connected systems.
Check the evidence
Separate confirmed information from assumptions and identify anything still missing.
Work through the resolution
Apply the team’s troubleshooting method and use available Connections where they help.
Prepare the response or handoff
Return the resolution, next step, or concise escalation context.
Reuse troubleshooting methods with Skills
A Skill can store the team’s repeatable approach to a specific support task.
Examples include:
- troubleshooting a common issue category
- reviewing an escalation
- drafting a customer update
- summarizing a case for engineering
- checking a response against support standards
The Skill stores the reusable method while the customer-specific facts stay with the current work.
Use Connections for live customer context
When the relevant systems are connected, Giga can work with current information exposed by those Connections.
That might include information from a support platform, CRM, database, or other approved customer system.
The exact capabilities depend on:
- the Connection available to the user or Agent
- provider-side permissions
- the tools exposed in the current session
- the action being requested
Giga should check the live environment rather than assume a specific customer system or action is available.
Keep complex issues in Tracks
A Track is useful when a support issue or customer situation will continue beyond one Chat.
For example:
- a complex escalation
- an ongoing implementation issue
- a customer incident
- a recurring problem under investigation
- a cross-functional support case
The Track can keep the durable background, Observations, Current Track State, files, and linked Chats around that issue.
Use a Track when the issue has continuity
One-off questions can stay in Chat. Escalations that span people, systems, or time benefit from a durable home.
Prepare clean handoffs
Support work frequently moves between frontline support, technical teams, customer success, and engineering.
A useful handoff can include:
- what the customer is experiencing
- confirmed evidence
- what has already been tried
- what was ruled out
- current status
- open questions
- the next action required
Current Track State is useful for preserving where an ongoing escalation stands and how it got there.
A reusable handoff Skill can standardize how that information is packaged.
Use a Support Agent for a stable role
A Support Agent can carry a consistent support role across repeated work.
It can have:
- support-specific instructions
- durable context
- shared Skills
- approved Connections
For example, the Agent might consistently separate confirmed customer facts from assumptions and use a standard troubleshooting Skill where available.
The live permission model still controls which customer information and systems it can access.
Standardize support processes with Workflows
A Workflow fits support work with several meaningful stages.
For example, a Customer Issue Review Workflow might contain:
- investigate the issue
- determine the next action
- prepare the response or escalation
The Workflow can tell Giga to stop when evidence is missing rather than continuing with an unsupported assumption.
Schedule recurring support reviews
A Pulse can handle support work that genuinely benefits from recurring checks.
Examples include:
- review an ongoing escalation Track for meaningful changes
- prepare a recurring support summary
- review unresolved issues on a selected cadence
- run a scheduled check through a Support Agent
The Pulse uses the live permissions, Agent or Track context, and Connections available at execution time.
Customer-facing actions require confirmation
Giga can help draft customer-facing communication.
When a live Connection supports an outward-facing action, normal confirmation rules still apply.
For example, Giga should not silently send a customer message simply because a Workflow or Agent prepared the response.
Example: complex customer escalation
Imagine a customer issue needs several days of investigation.
Escalation Track
Keeps the customer issue, history, Current Track State, and work product together.
Support Connections
Provide current customer-system information when permitted.
Troubleshooting Skill
Gives the team a reusable investigation method.
Support Agent
Provides a consistent support role and approved access.
A Workflow can standardize the investigation and handoff, while a Pulse can check the ongoing Track when scheduled follow-up is useful.
